My first hand-painted plate - 花開富貴 Peonies - the flower that symbolises beauty and wealth

I have always wanted to join the Gwon-glazed painting (Cantonese porcelain painting 廣彩) class but the class is always full 🤦🏻‍♀️. I finally managed to register the 3-hour workshop organized by Touch Ceramics earlier this year to learn more about Gwon-glazed painting, a Chinese traditional craftsmanship that is quickly disappearing.

The 3-hour course started with an introduction by an old master on Gwon-glazed painting. It was not as easy as I thought to draw on a plate - it was hard to put colours onto the plate. Swipe to see how the plate was like before it was put into the oven, and turned out the plate looks much better afterwards (it took a few days for the plate to get ready).

What I like the most is the bees drawn by the master but I chose to draw it by myself, what do you think about the bees I drawn 🤔

Touch Ceramics organizes different workshops, check out their website for more procelain painting workshops!

How much: $ 980 (3 hours)
Where is it? Touch Ceramics
